A Message from our Chief Executive, Stephen Greep...

Hull and East Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is one of the larger acute trusts in the UK, providing a full range of acute services to almost 600,000 people in the Hull and East Yorkshire region. We are not only a large District general Hospital but a trauma, cancer and tertiary centre as well as the major player in the local medical school with strong links to the University.

In addition to the services provided to the local population the Trust also provides a number of sub-specialties serving a wider population of up to 1.2million people including the areas of North Yorkshire, North and North East Lincolnshire.

With three main hospital sites (Hull Royal Infirmary, Castle Hill Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital) the Trust has 1,500 beds, over 7,500 staff and an annual income of approximately £400m (2008/2009).

Over the last five years the Trust has opened a number of new state-of-the-art facilities such as the £6m Hull and East Yorkshire Eye Hospital and the £35m Women and Children’s Hospital, both at Hull Royal Infirmary. This year the Trust will complete its current major development programme at Castle Hill Hospital with the opening of the £70m Cancer Centre, the £48m Cardiac and Elective Centre, and a £12m Research and Teaching (including Day Surgery) building. In addition there are a number of further significant capital developments taking place within the Trust over the next few years.

I hope this website helps you to understand more about our Trust and the region, if you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.

Stephen Greep - Chief Executive
