Patient Transport Service

Non Emergency PTS is a service for patients who are unable to use their own, public or community transport because of a medical condition. It caters for those patients who are either too ill to get to or from hospital without assistance, or for whom getting there may cause their condition to deteriorate. Patient Transport Services are defined as the non-urgent, planned transportation of patients with a medical need for transportation to and from premises providing NHS Healthcare.

If you are not eligible for patient transport but you are on low income, or in receipt of Income
Support, Working Families Tax Credit or Income Based Job Seekers allowance, you may be able to claim back travel expenses through the Hospital Travel Claim Scheme (HTCS). Forms are available from the General Offices which are located:

  • Hull Royal Infirmary - Second Floor, Tower Block
  • Castle Hill Hospital - Main Reception, Women's Health, Entrance 2

For more information on eligibility criteria speak to hospital staff or your General Practitioner.
