Physicist – Band 8b (8a, 7) - Radiation Protection & Diagnostic
Imaging
An enthusiastic and experienced physicist is wanted to join the
growing Radiation Protection & Diagnostic Imaging team
within the Radiation Physics Department. Based currently at the
Princess Royal Hospital in Hull, but moving in the summer
of 2008 to a new £60 million Cancer Centre at Cottingham - on
the edge of the tranquil Yorkshire Wolds, and only 5 miles
from Beverley (number 1 UK town on the RBS 2007 Affordable
Affluence Index).
Whilst the bulk of the work will be with the NHS in Hull and
Cottingham, the team of 3 physicists and 2 technicians serve
smaller clients south into Lincolnshire and South Yorkshire, and
as far north as Newcastle.
For an 8b banding, a successful candidate will be a state
registered clinical scientist, and a corporate member of the
IPEM,
have a full driving licence, and should have, or be sufficiently
experienced to gain within a year, an RPA2000 certificate.
