 We
have three Varian (www.varian.com) Linacs: the oldest had a collimator
assembly refit to install a 80 leaf MLC in May 2001, a 600CD was
installed and commissioned in December 2000 and the 2100CD installed and
commissioned in Jan-April 2001. The CD Linacs are both fully equipped
with 120 leaf MLCs and Flat Panel Amorphous Silicon Portal Imaging
systems.
We have implemented and routinely use the automated set up and delivery
features of our state of the art Linacs. This includes ongoing
development of the Therapy treatment management (VARIS) system.
Currently, we upload all planning system generated DRRs (Digitally
Reconstructed Radiographs) to VARIS for comparison against Portal images
obtained with the Flat Panel imagers. Similarly, all MLC data files are
sent directly. We have implemented a DICOM link with the CMS (www.cms-stl.com)
system and the direct transfer of plan data to the VARIS database.
We have a clinical IMRT service and are an IMRT reference site for
Varian.
